Simple, Lazy Ranch Dressing Recipe

Simple, Lazy Ranch Dressing Recipe

Posted by Christine Evans on

Who doesn't love a creamy, delicious ranch? Well, if you're buying ranch from the store, your body may not love it. Store-bought bottles of ranch often contain seed oils, sugar, gums, and preservatives that can lead to inflammation and discomfort in the body. However, the solution is not cutting out ranch completely...it's making your own! This homemade ranch recipe only takes a few minutes to put together and is the perfect way to add new flavors to your favorite ViCera meals.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup mayo
  • 1/3 cup whole milk (A2 preferred)
  • 3 tablespoons dried ranch dressing powder
  • 2 tablespoons minced green onions (dried)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (dried)
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Directions:

1. Mix milk with apple cider vinegar in a small bowl to sit for 10 minutes. (This makes 'mock' buttermilk, so don't be surprised if it looks a little thick after sitting!)

2. After 10 minutes, add all remaining ingredients and stir.

3. Pour into a container and store in the refrigerator. Best if consumed within ten days.

A Few Thoughts:

  • I highly recommend using the homemade mayo recipe from this blog because it does not contain seed oils or any other inflammatory ingredients. If you are looking for a store-brought brand that is cleaner than the most popular options, look for Primal Kitchen's Mayo.
  • Want spicy ranch? Add some sriracha or Truff sauce for an extra kick!
